Standing committees are an important part of our Union's governance structure because they provide consistency, expertise, and stability as well as bring a fresh perspective to our activities. They were established to focus on specific areas of our operations. Our standing committees are volunteer-based, and their primary purpose is to consider, recommend actions plans, and execute in the functional areas under their jurisdictions, subject to the approval of the Union or the Executive Council.
